The Policy Lab of the School of public affairs at Sciences Po Paris (EAP) is launching the 4th edition of the Public Policy Incubator, an innovative pedagogical programme that trains students to the new ways of building and implementing public policies in order to tackle the crucial issues of our century by ****using the full potential of design and innovative technologies processes and methodologies..

The objective of the present call for challenges is to recruit partners from the public, private or voluntary sectors who will submit challenges to the students enrolled in the 2022 Public Policy Incubator programme.

💡 How does it work? 💡

Every week, students gather to work in teams of 4-6 under the guidance of a professional designer, who supervises their work to tackle a real-world problem related to common good called “challenge” and submitted by an outside partner. The programme is open to first year Master students of the School of public affairs and takes place during the second semester (from January to mid-May 2022).The goal  is to create concrete solutions and to build useful prototypes that will benefit both users and society. The solutions can take different forms, depending on what seems most relevant to address the challenge and the target users: mobile app, online platform, serious game, simulator, (re)design of a user journey or path, data visualization etc. By using the technics of quick-prototyping as well a new technologies, students will produce and display a demonstrator at the end of the semester (we can also refer to it as a POC: "Proof of Concept").

🤝 A programme at the core of the School of public affairs pedagogical project 🤝

The Public Policy Incubator is fully integrated within the School of public affairs pedagogical curriculum as it teaches students about how public action reinvents itself in order to tackle current social, environmental and democratic issues. Therefore, partners who join the programme contribute directly to the School pedagogical project, allowing graduates to be fully equipped and prepared for their future professional endeavours in the public and private sector or as members of civil society.
